Adelphi runs three wireless networks. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason a connection fails, and no amount of retyping a password will fix it.
- AU
- Personal devices — laptops, phones, tablets. This is the network residence halls use.
- AU Internal
- Adelphi-managed faculty, staff, and student-worker laptops. Identified by an Adelphi asset tag.
- eduroam
- The inter-university network. Works here and at other participating institutions, but the username format differs by device.
Your username is not your email address
Most Adelphi wireless sign-ins want the username without the domain. The domain also tells you what kind of account it is:
- @mail.adelphi.edu
- Student account
- @adelphi.edu
- Faculty, staff, or student worker
rian@mail.adelphi.edu → rian
user@adelphi.edu → userWhich format, where
- AU
- Username only, without the domain
- eduroam on iPhone or iPad
- Username only, without the domain
- eduroam on Windows
- The full email address, including the domain
- eduroam on Android
- Needs extra configuration — check the Adelphi documentation
- NetReg
- Username only, without the domain

Consoles, smart TVs, and streaming devices
These cannot complete a browser sign-in, so they are registered by MAC address in NetReg and then join AU.
